Introduction to Prodesktop |
Introduction to the program by using example drawings from the department website. Demonstration of the basic drawing tools. Draw a rectangle. Dimension to size. Extrude to produce a cube. Select a face and create a new workplane – new sketch. Draw a circle dimension and then project through. Students complete the same practice piece but complete for each face of the cube. |
Prodesktop and computers with projector. Colour printer. Department website - tutorials are also available on the website to support learning both at home and at school |
Production of the first drawing – the holy cube. May be printed out but is saved. |

The spiky cube – next drawing exercise. |
Demonstrate how to extrude from each face of the cube to produce the spiky cube. Students complete the exercise. Rounding and chamfering demonstrated and completed on all drawings. |

Revolve profile – the wine glass. |
Demonstrate revolving a profile around an axis to produce solids of rotation. Students practice and produce a range of shapes. |
