Finalising ideas

Development

Students will start finalising their ideas and develop those using graphic techniques and product modelling making prototypes and using Prodesktop CAD modelling.

Autumn Term 1

Development and CAD

Ordering material

Students will Refine their models and produce a 3D CAD image of the product using Prodesktop.  Students produce final working drawings and order materials.

Autumn Term 2

Planning for manufacture.

Manufacture

Students plan for the production and start the manufacture of their product. This is a very intense part of the course and assistance from department technician is required.

Spring Term 1

Completion testing and evaluation

Students will finish assembling their final product and add any surface finishes. They will then test and evaluate their product against their specification and given brief. Students will produce photographic and CAD images for their completed coursework folder.

Spring Term 2

Four:

Revision for GCSE examinations

Review of theory and skills learnt in years 10 and 11.

Students are given a range of questions to answer and discuss. Sample exam papers practiced. Department web site used with effect for revising and quizzes.
