Wiring The Steerable Buggy

 

In order to reverse the direction of the motors they have to be wired up as shown in the cross arrangement.

The wires are soldered in the cross arrangement. This connects top left to bottom right. Top right to bottom left. Notice the battery connector is connected to both switches. The photograph shows the switches bolted to the top board. The battery connector is not shown here.

This is the complete circuit. The umbilical wires should be all different colours. This helps when connecting to the motors. Trial and error may still be needed to get the direction of rotation right.  
Control unit ready to be bolted up This is ready to be bolted together. Notice the umbilical is twisted. This can be done using a hand drill. The umbilical is passed through a hole in the bottom plate. The batterry is tightly held in place when the bolts are tightened.
